Day 1

Transfer by coach to the Frontier Hotel Darwin for your 1 nights’ accommodation or similar, on your way you will experience a Welcome to Country.

This afternoon – take a self-guided, audio walking tour of the city - wander through Darwin’s past and the paths of our pioneers, the audio will tell a tale of Darwins’ history through the World War II bombings and Cyclone Tracy, to current day. Discover many of the remaining buildings such as the old Court House and Police Station, Browns Mart and the Old Palmerston Town Hall ruins, all of which have been painstakingly reconstructed. View Government House, Parliament House and the Northern Territory Supreme Court on our journey through the streets of this modern tropical city.

Just download the app, put on your headphones and you are on your way. There are many hidden treasures to see on foot and plenty of opportunities to capture photographs of the public artworks, architecture, historic buildings, tropical plants and wildlife.

This evening we visit the Mindil Markets to have a spot of dinner from one of the variety of stalls and watch the sunset over the water, or walk into the city to dine out (own expense)

Day 2

You’ve come a long way to Darwin. You want the real story. Bring the country to life on an Indigenous Litchfield Spectacular day tour. You’ll discover magnificent scenery, fascinating pioneer heritage and a rich Aboriginal tradition.  We’ll show you spiritually important waterfalls and stone country, ancient rainforest and unspoilt woodland, and their places in Aboriginal culture and you’ll take away a deeper understanding of Aboriginal life, its relationship to country and its place in modern society, being enriched by this unforgettable experience. 

Departing Darwin bright and early for the short journey to Litchfield National Park. Explore the waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments of Litchfield National Park. At various places we’ll demonstrate seasonal bush resources used by local Aboriginal people for thousands of years, and describe the relationship of Litchfield’s landscape features to local indigenous culture. Discover intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite mounds and swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch.

After a tasty lunch, it's all aboard as we travel on to the Katherine Region. Later today stop at Edith Falls (if time permits) for a refreshing dip in the plunge pool before retiring to our private campsite and enjoy the Marksie’s stockman’s camp tucker night.

Day 3

It's up early this morning to get into Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge) before the masses to enjoy the Nit Nit Dreaming Cruise. Spend some time exploring the spiritual home of the Jawoyn Aboriginal people before enjoying lunch. Afterwards, we visit the awards winning *Top Didj Cultural Experience. Interact with Top End Aboriginal artist Manuel Pamkal and ask questions about aboriginal culture whilst being educated on the significance of his painting style, weapons used and how he lived off the land.

Day 4

This morning we make our way to Kakadu – by way of Motor Car Falls for a mid morning arrival, to enjoy all this spectacular area has to offer. After the hike into the falls, you will be rewarded with pools to cool down in. After a tasty lunch, continue to enjoy your surroundings until mid afternoon when it's all aboard as we travel on to Kakadu to enjoy the sunset on a Yellow Waters River cruise. A must do activity within Kakadu National Park, the award winning Yellow Waters cruise is Aboriginal owned and centres around a spectacular billabong system that is home to some remarkable and diverse wildlife. Spotting crocodiles is only one of the many wildlife viewing opportunities on this unique water system.  Arrive at our private campsite complete with comfortable permanent tents at Cooinda where we spend the night enjoying dinner and some stargazing.

Day 5

Early morning as we head to Maguk Falls. Before travelling to nearby Nourlangie Rock. Here you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area through changing times. Environmental and social changes are reflected in the rock art and in the ground, where archaeologists have uncovered over 20,000 years of Aboriginal occupation.

After lunch visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, a Gun-djeihmi name for the local area and creek on land owned by the Mirarr clan. See the audio-visual presentations and Marrawuddi Gallery showcasing Aboriginal art by artists from within Kakadu and the wider region.

Day 6

This morning we arrive at the culturally significant Aboriginal art site, Ubirr, located within the East Alligator region of the park – crossing the famous Cahills Crossing. Here you will meet your guide and traditional Aboriginal owner of northern Kakadu National Park to visit the world-renowned Ubirr rock art site. Its spectacular array of galleries showcases art from 20,000 years ago up to the 20th century and learning the story of the Rainbow Serpent. Take in elevated, expansive views as you climb the Nadab Lookout with views over the floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land. Here we also have an information session regarding weed management that the traditional owners focus on year on year.

It’s time to head back to Frontier Hotel Darwin for your 1 nights’ accommodation or similar, enroute we experience the traditional jumping crocs on Adelaide River and lunch.

This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner down by the waterfront (at own cost).

Day 7

This morning is our last chance to buy some souvenirs and check out of our hotel, as we transfer back to the Darwin Domestic airport for our flight home.
